Over the past few months, I’ve been experimenting at my studio table with a new mix of mediums, gouache and pencil. At first, I wasn’t sure where it would lead, but curiosity got the better of me.

The result is a series of small, original artworks that feel like little daydreams on paper. They’re colourful, playful, and full of quiet charm, and I’m so excited to finally share them with you.

Why Gouache + Pencil?

Gouache has this matte, velvety quality that feels both nostalgic and modern. When paired with pencils, it allows me to create colourful pieces paired with subtle textures and details. It brings out that bright and joyful feeling that pencil alone can’t quite capture.

It’s been a refreshing change from my usual process, and it’s teaching me to approach each piece with more freedom and less perfectionism. A reminder that good things take time, but happy accidents are welcome too.

Small Originals, Big Meaning

These paintings are my very first steps into this medium, which makes them quite special. Collecting one now means owning a piece from the very beginning of this creative chapter, almost like holding the first pages of a story before it fully unfolds.

Because they’re small, they’re perfect for tucking into those little corners of your home that deserve some love. A hallway nook, a reading corner, or even styled as part of a gallery wall. Small artworks have a way of bringing intimacy and warmth to a space.

A Gentle Invitation

I’m curious to see whether this path is one worth exploring further. If these works find a place in your heart, and on your wall, that might just be the encouragement I need to keep going with this series.
