Original pencil drawing of a Soapwort. This drawing is from the 100 Days of Flowers projected completed in 2015.
Soapwort was bought over to America by the colonists to be used as a soap substitute. When bruised or boiled in water, the leaves produce a lather with detergent properties that even removes grease.
This is an original drawing created with Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils on 250gsm Bristol artist paper.
