The female and male zucchini flower are slightly different in appearance. The female flower is a golden blossom on the end of each emergent zucchini, while the male flower grows directly on the stem of the zucchini plant on a long stalk. This drawing is from the 100 Days of Flowers projected completed in 2015.
This is an original drawing created with Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils on 250gsm bristol artist paper.
